My Fathers Interview On His 90th Birthday

Happy Birthday Dad!

This video was recorded  by my brother on dad's 90th birthday. Dad passed away at 95 in January 2021.

The video stops a bit abruptly at the end, but the camera battery went out. Thanks for watching.

Many thanks for a very interesting blog post. I researched the history of B-17G "Ice Cold Katy" back in the early 1990s. I corresponded with a dozen ex crew members that flew missions on "Ice Cold Katy" and compiled a complete combat diary of her 103 missions from Deenethorpe. Unfortunately, I was unable to make contact with Eugene Hall at the time, but this was well before the days of the internet. I still hope to use my research for a book one day soon. Reading the blog and watching the interview was marvellous. Many thanks for posting!
Best regards;

So interesting !! As a 23 year old a lot of people my age think the war was so long ago but its really not that long ago. We owe our freedom to these blokes! My father had me at 64 being 88 now but he has fond memories of the airmen. I actually ended up recently getting engaged to an American whos grandfather was an 8th airforce ball turret gunner, shot down over Germany and captured. Bloody lucky he survived but a hell of a story. Massive respect to you sir !
